A total of 288 contingent comprising 203 athletes, 41 coaches and others has arrived Asaba, the Delta State capital yesterday for the 9th National Youth Games.
Before their departure in Kaduna, the Honourable Commissioner of Sports Development Kaduna State, Prof. Benjamin Kumai Gugong bid the team farewell at the Murtala Square and called on them to be good ambassadors
The assistant chairman Kaduna State Chess Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed who came to the ministry to cheer the athletes, wished them success at the National Youth Games.
Also, the coach of basketball team, Sani Turo expressed confidence that Kaduna State will come out tops
Kaduna State will be competing in 23 different sports.
It would be recalled that Kaduna finished seventeenth at the last games.
