Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has recorded over-subscription by passengers following the introduction of extra train trip on Thursday June 5, 2025.

The corporation’s management described the over-subscription as a reaffirmation of growing public confidence in rail transport across the country.

Managing Director of NRC, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, explained that the extra trip was initiated in response to feedback and requests from passengers who “rely heavily on train services for their intercity travels.”

Elaborating on his assertion, Opeifa said: “The large turnout underscores the importance of rail in national mobility and we are committed to expanding our services to meet the growing needs of Nigerians.”

The NRC management in expression of satisfaction thanked passengers for their trust and patronage, and assured the public that the Nigerian Railway will continue to improve on its service delivery, safety and customer satisfaction across all rail transport corridors.
