A coalition of Northern youth groups under the umbrella of Advocates of Peace and Prosperity, has declared total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, calling for the formulation of a 10-year Northern Development Agenda (2025–2035) to tackle insecurity, poverty, and youth unemployment across the region.

The declaration was made at a World Press Conference held in Kaduna, coordinated by Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai, Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Governor Uba Sani.

The coalition, which includes the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Muslim Youth for Peaceful Society (MYPS), Arewa Concerned Citizens Forum (ACCF), Nigeria Youth Projects (NYP), Tinubu-Uba Leadership Network (TULN), and Kaduna Citizens Forum (KCF), among others, said Northern youths will not be drawn into the ongoing Nnamdi Kanu–inspired protests taking place in some parts of the country.

Reading a joint communiqué on behalf of the group, Dr. Olayinka Adeosun and Hon. Husseini Modibbo Kachia said Nigeria’s unity remains non-negotiable, warning that divisive protests could reopen old wounds of ethnic and religious tension.

He said, “We refuse to participate in any protest designed to undermine the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and all those working tirelessly to ensure a united Nigeria beyond ethnic and religious coloration,”

The coalition urged Northern leaders, traditional rulers, and policymakers to adopt a long-term strategy to rebuild the region’s economy, strengthen education, and create employment opportunities for young people. It emphasized that the North must shift from reactionary politics to sustainable development planning.

According to the communiqué, the North has lagged behind in major human development indicators, making it imperative for government and private stakeholders to invest in security, skills acquisition, and innovation-driven enterprises.

“Our focus should be on empowerment, not protest. The North must begin to chart a new course for progress through structured economic programs and strategic policy reforms,” the group stated.

The youth leaders commended Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to poverty reduction, inclusiveness, and human capital development, describing him as a model of transformative leadership in Northern Nigeria.

“Governor Uba Sani has shown courage and foresight in promoting empowerment and community development. His leadership has brought renewed hope to Kaduna State and the wider North,” the group added.

They also lauded the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa Gwabin, for his sustained efforts in maintaining national stability through intelligence-led military operations and inter-agency coordination.

The coalition reaffirmed its loyalty to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to promote peace, unity, and national cohesion while encouraging Nigerian youths to embrace constructive engagement rather than street protests.

“The future of the North depends on unity, education, and economic empowerment. We must rebuild our region with hope and vision, not destruction,” they declared.
