Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has condemned the killing of 12 citizens from Kaduna in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The victims were traveling to Quan Pan Local Government Area for a wedding ceremony when they were attacked, leaving 11 others injured.
Governor Sani called on security agencies to leave no stone unturned in hunting down the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.
He urged Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, to take full charge of the situation and direct security operations until the murderers are apprehended.
Governor Sani stated he would personally follow up on the progress of investigations and field operations.
The Governor extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and assured that the state would do everything possible to ease their pain and provide adequate medical attention to the injured.
Governor Sani highlighted Kaduna State’s progress in peace building and conflict transformation, expressing hope that Plateau State can also achieve peace with the right commitment and political will. He emphasized that impunity will no longer be tolerated and that the perpetrators must be held accountable.
He stressed that there is no justification for attacking citizens anywhere in the country and that such acts of savagery must stop and called for close collaboration with security agencies to ensure justice is served.
