Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development  (ALFOPED) Maiduguri  has organized  a one day workshop training on Spiritual and  Peace Education for Women Faith-Based Organizations, (FBOs.) on Friday, at Allamin Foundation Office, Giwa Barracks Area,  Maiduguri.

The Executive Director, Allamin’ Foundation for Peace and Development, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin in her opening remarks, said Allamin’ Foundation with the support and collaboration  Temple Foundation organized the workshop as part of its “#SheBuildsPeace” for Women Faith- based  Organizations  towards building peace among religious faithfuls in Borno State, particularly, the women folks.

Represented by  Hajiya Falmata Musa, the  Gender Adviser, Allamin’ Foundation for Peace and  Development, she said in her opening remarks that  the participants  were drawn from  women  faith-based organizations  of both the Christians and Muslims  to  educate and teach them how to make peace with their homes, with their  families,in their  neighborhoods and  communities.

According to her, the workshop is targeted at exposing the participants to the fundamentals and principles of spiritual and religions peace in the society for better and improved peaceful co-existence among people of all races, religious faith  and tribes.

Hajiya Hamsatu  noted that it is also a collaboration for a way forward for peace , unity, love, progress and development to enshrine among our people affe tes by the insurgency  for a sustainable peace and development in the state.

The Facilitator, Dr. Muhammad  Abdallahi  emphasized on all faiths absolute commitment and deviation as well as dedication to respective religions and worships of believers and followers.

He spoke on understanding the luti dimensional nature of peace, religious teachings on Peace in Islam and Christianity among other categories and formal of peace and peace building.

Dr. Muhammad added that such teaches morality, discipline, resilience, patience, live, affection, trust, honesty, responsiveness, transparency and accountability among others…Dr. Abdullahi further explained that Peace in Religious  Structures  in Islam and Christianity while elaborating multi-dimensional  concepts of peace in Islamic perspectives and Christian perspectives based on spirituality

He also spoke in how different religious and spiritual traditions  promote peace in Islam and Christianity on Justice, health or cleanliness, trust, honesty, love, reconciliation, forgiveness while Citing the books of Buhari and Muslim in Islam  and Christianity.

The Facilitator dwelt also the personal and spiritual fundamental for Peace, especially  under peace like blaming others for your problems , meditation, comparing self with others, controlling self and appreciating what you have.

Others avoidance if certain things, acceptance certain things, patience , being creative and innovative to get inner peace and external peace among others .share values and norms, traditions and other  cultural  and religious principles and roles in peace and unity.

He urged the participants to embrace and use the knowledge and demonstrations shown to them on Microsoft PowerPoint and other illustrations during  group works at the training hall as imbibe the habit and attitude of love, living peace and unity with one another , effect changes and improve on existing cordial relations with one another and other people in their communities.
