New Commandant of the Katsina State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Abbas Dan-Ile Moriki has resumed work.

A statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, Buhari Hamisu said Commandant Dan-Ile Moriki took over from Commandant of the Corps, Aminu Datti Ahmad in a special ceremony at the state Command Headquarters in Katsina.

During the handover ceremony, where the flag and official documents were presented, the statement said the outgoing Commandant expressed gratitude to “Almighty God and thanked the officers and men of the Command for their immense support throughout his tenure as the State Commandant.”

The former Katsina State Commandant urged the personnel of the Command to extend the same support and cooperation to the new State Commandant.

In his address, Commandant A.D Moriki emphasized the leadership commitment of the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi towards ensuring the safety, security and protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

He assured government and people of the state of his commitment to adopting effective strategies for ensuring provision of adequate security to protect the vital assets.

The new State Commandant hails from Moriki in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zanfara State and attended Umaru Danjeka Model Primary School, Moriki, Government Secondary School Koko, Kebbi State for his Secondary Education.

As a dedicated student, the statement said he then proceeded to the Prestigious Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in the year 1995 and subsequently obtained a Masters Degree in Econimics from the same institution in the year 2001.

Accordingly, “Commandant Moriki holds professional membership certificates from several recognized institutes and organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Nigeria Institute of Management.”

As a seasoned Security expert, the statement explained, he has served in various Commands and formations across the country in multiple capacities.

Some of his key positions include:- “Antivandal Unit of the Kano State Command, Administration Department of the Sokoto State Command, Second-In-Command at both the Zamfara and Jigawa State Commands and Commandant of Administration at NSCDC zone 2 Headquarters,Kaduna.”

He also participated in several professional courses, such as the Certificate Course on Intelligence and Investigation, Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Course, Certificate Course on Special mine Surveillance, and the Course on protection of Civilian in addition to the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration course at Nigeria Army Peace Keeping Centre in Jaji, Kaduna.
