Fast rising comedy sensation, MC Apollo thrilled his audience to a stellar performance, leaving them rolling on the floor, thereby solidifying his place in Abuja’s evolving comedy scene.
The Apollo Joking But Serious show tagged, “I the Husband, Myself a Father, and Me the Bread Winner” was the second edition organized in commemoration of the 2025 Father’s Day celebration on Sunday June 15, 2025 in Kuje, Abuja.
After a series of comedians mounted the stage to give the audience what felt like the appetizer, the man of the moment, MC Apollo as usual had the audience falling off their seats with laughter without boundaries.
Speaking after the show, MC Apollo who expressed gratitude to all those who have in the past and present supported his brand, noted that the energy from the audience fueled the wonderful performance witnessed during the show.
“It has been a long time coming and I really want to thank all those who have been there for me through thick and thin. We are not where we want to be but we are making progress,” he said.
The Abuja-based comedy act revealed that the inspiration for the show was as a result of his struggle to fend for his family following the untimely demise of his father and now he is married to a beautiful lady.
“You can see I’m currently married. I am a husband to a beautiful woman. I lost my dad since 2005 and since then I’ve been a father to my kid sister and brother and a husband to my mother. All these responsibilities informed that title”.
He further revealed some of the big plans he has for the remainder of 2025 and beyond.
“My regular December show- Apollo Unexpected still coming and this year will be the fifth edition. I am also going hard into content creation on all social media platforms.” He revealed.
As he continues to build his brand and push creative boundaries, MC Apollo’s performance at the Joking But Serious comedy marks a significant moment in his career—one that proves he is not only ready for the spotlight but destined to own it.
Other highlights of the event were performances from Odey D Uncommon, MC Funny Mic, MC Surface, Captain Silver Dee, including music performance by Danny Flex.
