A Human Rights Activist, Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu Shinkafi, has blasted the spokesman to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, Mustapha Ja’afaru Kaura for allegedly using inciting statements against the State Minister of Defense, Alhaji Bello Matawalle and Senator AbdulAzeez Yari.

Shinkafi gave the spokesman seven days within which to publicly apologize in writing or face legal action in a Court of law.

In a telephone interview with New Nigerian in Kaduna on Sunday, the activist said, “We will not fall our hands and watch the spokesman to the Governor insulting our statesmen who have served the state as governors and are still serving the country in different capacities.

“He (spokesman) should tender his apology in writing within seven days or face a serious legal action against him.”

According to him, “I strongly believed the governor did not send him to do such nastic thing against the two senior citizens of the state nor will the governor whom l know very well will never come out and publicly criticize the elder statesmen in the manner Mustapha Ja’afaru Kaura has done. It is purely character assassination and we will not allow such act to continue in the state.”

He explained that some of them are criticizing the governor the way and manner things are happening in the state following killings and abductions of people on a daily basis, saying that they are doing so to ensure the governor do the right thing for the betterment of the entire people of the state.

Shinkafi observed that what the spokesman did is purely unacceptable in a civilized society, stressing that elders should be respected because they are valuable to the society and are doing a lot to enhance the living standards of the people in the state.
