I want to open this discourse with a globally acclaimed aphorism which stated thus “Success attracts enemies while progress invites jealousy.” It is in this context that I will situate the plain animosity and pure hostility against one of Nigeria’s finest young entrepreneurs and an outstanding international businessman, Abdullahi Haske from his home base.
It appears that there is an orchestrated and premeditated plan to smear the hard earned reputation of this young business mogul on the alter of partisanship and primitive jealousy which is perhaps the reason why the young man is being unnecessarily subjected to frivolous, media trial with the aim of dragging his untainted reputation to disrepute.
It was in that regard that the enemies of the young man resorted to planting sensational speculations in the media alleging that Haske was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over cooked up infractions.
To showcase the desperation of the sponsors of such unethical misconduct, the reports were written with complete disregard for the time tested principle of fair hearing despite the weight of allegations brought against the businessman.
These insinuations, steeped in malice and clearly orchestrated by vested interests, are not only false but represent a gross misrepresentation of actual happenings aimed at tarnishing the reputation of a man who has for decades, built a legacy in excellence, integrity, and service to humanity.
It must be unequivocally stated that Abdullahi Haske was never arrested by the EFCC. The businessman was merely invited by the anti graft commission as part of its routine operations to get clarifications on what turned out to be “legitimate business dealings.”
Being a responsible and law abiding citizen, Haske did not waste time in honouring the invitation of the EFCC and after due scrutiny and explanations, he was cleared and released without any charge or indictment.
Yet, even before the facts could be ascertained, some desperate political forces hastily pushed a false narrative to the media, claiming that he was arrested without a scintilla of evidence to buttress their spurious claims. Such cash and carry journalists are the bane of the exalted profession.
Abdullahi Haske is not an obscure figure in the Nigerian business turf. His name which is associated with excellence, integrity and success no doubt rings bell across the Nigerian and international business landscapes.
Renowned for his sharp business acumen, ethical practices, and consistent record of success, Haske who founded foremost business entities across various human spheres cutting across oil and gas, construction, agriculture, and energy, has over the years created thousands of jobs, contributed to national development, and upheld compliance with all regulatory protocols.
In an environment where cutting corners has become commonplace, Haske has distinguished himself with a streak of measured discipline and lawful practice.
He has always subjected his companies to regular audits, fulfilled tax obligations, and complied with all corporate governance standards. Not once in his illustrious business career was he found wanting or indicted by any regulatory or security agency. This speaks volumes about his character and integrity.
It is therefore, laughable that a man of such stature would be accused of money laundering on the basis of a contract payment received into his company’s legitimate account. That open desperation defies both logic and common sense.
Contract payments are not criminal acts because they are transactions rooted in legality and legitimacy. These transactions are usually documented, tracked, and audited. If the intention of Haske is to launder money, as the false narrative suggests, it would have been through untraceable means, not through formal business channels.
Therefore, what we are witnessing is a classic case of media trial, a desperate strategy deployed by enemies of progress who are threatened by Haske’s ever-rising profile, especially in his home state of Adamawa.
These elements, seeing that they cannot match his business achievements or philanthropic outreach, have resorted to sponsoring falsehoods and malicious campaigns to dent his image.
Behind this orchestrated media trial is the growing popularity of his younger brother, Abdurrahman Bashir Haske, a prominent gubernatorial hopeful in Adamawa State.
The younger Haske, admired for his youthful energy, dynamism, and connection to grassroots development, has become a rallying point for the people. This has clearly unsettled the current political establishment that fears losing grip on power. Thus, in a cowardly attempt to weaken his momentum, they have turned their guns on Abdullahi Haske, hoping to discredit his name hence dealing a blow to the rising fame of his younger brother.
But the people of Adamawa are wiser than that. They know who their true benefactors are. They know Abdullahi Haske is not a delinquent and can never be associated with iniquities lest be treated like a common criminal. Haske is a man who has over the years earned a solid recognition as a bridge builder, a man who has poured his resources into empowering youths, sponsoring community initiatives, and supporting development projects across the state and beyond.
It is a known fact that over the years, Abdullahi Haske has built credible international partnerships, earning respect in diplomatic and business circles across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
He has been a bridge between Nigeria and global investors, leveraging his credibility to attract goodwill and expertise into vital sectors such as energy and infrastructure. This is not the profile of a man engaged in illegal activity; but the mark of a visionary entrepreneur committed to national growth.
Moreover, his philanthropic contributions are extensive and well-documented. From educational scholarships to physical empowerment and other vital humanitarian projects, Haske has consistently demonstrated that his personal success is a shared success.
Truth will always rise above falsehood, and like gold tested by fire, Abdullahi Haske’s character has come out shining even brighter. His reputation remains intact, and his name continues to inspire a new generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs who believe in hard work, patriotism, and doing business the right way.
Those who seek to destroy him will surely fail because you cannot break a man who has built his legacies on the basis of honesty, truth and selflessness.
