The Amalgamation of Northern Youths Organizations (ANYO) a regional coalition body representing Northern Nigerian youths, has expressed deep satisfaction with the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
This was contained in a statement signed by its spokesman, Comr. Saifullahi Yusuf Indabawa, made available at the weekend.
“We are particularly disturbed by the recent wave of unfounded and malicious allegations launched by certain unpatriotic and mischievous groups. These groups have accused Mr. Ojulari—and by extension, the current administration—of corruption and regional marginalization. We categorically reject these claims as baseless, politically motivated, and engineered by those threatened by the ongoing reforms within the Petrochemical sector the country (NNPCL).
“Since assuming office less than four months ago, Mr. Ojulari has demonstrated commendable leadership through far-reaching reforms. These include revitalizing infrastructure, increasing crude oil production to near-peak levels, and initiating empowerment projects for host communities—particularly in the Niger Delta. His efforts reflect a genuine commitment to fairness, accountability, and inclusive development.
Noteworthy, Mr. Ojulari has tackled institutional excesses and curbed corrupt practices within the system. Expectedly, these actions have unsettled entrenched interests who once benefitted from nepotism, monopolistic contract allocations, and regional exclusion. The current backlash is a desperate attempt by these elements to stall the progress being made,” it said.
Accordingly, the Amalgamation of Northern Youths Organizations passed a vote of confidence on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Ojulari for their visionary leadership and commitment to reforming Nigeria’s oil sector for the benefit of all, by extension condemned In totality the political sponsored protest against their leadership and on-going institutional reforms.
The group urged Nigerian youth and stakeholders to resist being manipulated by corrupt individuals whose interests are threatened by reform and give maximum cooperation and support to present administration just like they gave the previous administration of Mr. Mele Kyari and former President Buhari.
“Those demanding Mr. Ojulari’s removal have inadvertently revealed themselves as opponents of transparency and national progress. If the true intent was to address grievances, calling for his sack is neither constructive nor patriotic.
“In nutshell. The Amalgamation of Northern Youths Organizations remains committed to supporting reforms that promote equity in the oil and gas sector. We will not stand idly by while enemies of progress attempt to take us back to an era defined by corruption, exploitation, and division in disguise of regional patriotism,” it said.
