The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has said that attempts by the state opposition, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to discredit the outstanding achievements of Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s administration and the political prowess of its leader and guide, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko will continue to remain in futility.

Reacting and making reference to PDP recent mischievous campaign resorting to recycling of alleged old video clips and reports on projects of more than eight years ago, Bashar Abubakar, Special Assistant Media and Publicity to Senator Wamakko at a press conference in Sokoto on Monday, said the claims were not only misleading and false but have distorted historical facts.

” Sokoto APC remains focused on delivering dividends of democracy to the people and will not be distracted by cheap blackmail or recycled lies,” he said.

It described the antics of PDP in the state as mere desperation and orchestrated campaign of calumny and blackmail designed to deceitfully mislead unsuspecting public by creating false narrative aimed at tarnishing the image of current administration and APC leadership in the state.

Dwelling on “Truth About Sokoto Antics” , the ruling APC urged the good people of Sokoto state to remain vigilant and not to be deceived by the baseless antics stating that to he achievements if Hovet or Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto were visible infrastructure, education health , rural development, improved and good governance .

” No amount of false propaganda can erase the tangible progress that citizens are witnessing daily in the state.

” This is not only deceitful but desperate measure by PDP which has lost relevance and direction in the state”, Abubakar stressed.

According to Abubakar , the game plan of the PDP was to cling on the past by showcasing self serving narrative performance that existed only on paper and ignoring the current realities where Governor Aliyu Sokoto remained committed and working to tirelessly transform the state.

” It is an open and documented fact that in less than two years , our governor landmark achievements have dwarfed their right years of failed promises , dashed hopes and unfulfilled expectations that still trail them”, he pointed out.

While dissecting the false claims alleging that the immediate past PDP government had successfully completed projects inherited from Senator Wamakko’s administration, Abubakar said the propaganda were too alien to believe noting that the 40 wells Asare water scheme which supplied Bakin Kusu, Gidan Sanda, parts of Gidan Dare and Gwiwa,Ruggar Wauru , Farfaru, Bado and Arkilla was initiated , executed and commissioned by Wamakko while as governor to ease water supply to Sokoto metropolis and environment .

” The said water project encouraged Wamakko to replicate same scheme across Runjin Sambo, Ruggar Liman, Gahi, Mana, Tamaje and Old Airport. All had reached 70% completion except that of Runjin Sambo which was commissioned before he left office.

” Surprisingly, today PDP is claiming credit where it did not perform. Tambuwal could not even complete the 30% in 8 years to enable inauguration. He neglected it and stopped functioning for 5years only one out of the 40 wells left functioning till he completed his tenure”, the Media Assistant mentioned as he said Sokoto people had gotten the true picture of things not to be deceived by the flowery language used by the PDP.

Abubakar further accused Tambuwal of deliberately abandoning array of projects he inherited , disclosing that the Kalambaina housing units project had been completed by Wamakko before leaving government and commissioned by former President Buhari who was then president-elect.

” Without shame, the PDP mentioned among others in their clip and reports Wurno College of Agriculture, College of Legal Studies Wamakko, 3 boarding schools at Shagari, Maruda and Illela among Wamakko’s projects as their achievements”, Abubakar identified while explaining that most of the projects mentioned were executed by Wamakko long ago ” I can tell you that none of the mentioned projects were executed by Tambuwal administration.

” Therefore, this makes it evident that PDP’s claims are not only misleading but deliberate distortion of facts meant to downplay realities and tangible interventions of the current administration in the state “, he reiterated, stressing that the party in the state was committed to sustaining the tempo for transparent, accountable and service delivery under the visionary leadership of governor Aliyu Sokoto and guidance of Senator Aliyu Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto).
