Some All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State have expressed gratitude to voters for coming out enmass to vote for APC Zaria Kewaye House of Assembly Candidate Hon. Isa Haruna Ihamo.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, Barrister Aisha Zinnia and Hon. Yekos among others, commended the efforts and commitment of the voters for showing solidarity to the state governor, Senator Uba Sani and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen.
They noted that the support has shown that the people are happy with the developmental projects being implemented in the local government areas by the Speaker and the state governor.
“The women and youth are with us 100%, you can clearly see from the huge number of voters that came out to support and vote for our candidate”, Barrister Aisha said.
Despite reports of alleged vote buying by some political parties, some voters who spoke to our correspondent denied any knowledge of such happenings.
This was after the announcement of the results for the just concluded Zaria kewaye Kaduna State Assembly bye-elections by the INEC returning officer Professor Balarabe Abdullahi in Zaria, which declared Hon. Isa Haruna Ihamo as the winner of the elections held on Saturday.
The chairman of Zaria Local Government Area, Hon Mohammed Jamil Jaga and Hon Mahmood Lawal Bola Ige as well as the newly elected member, Hon. Isa Haruna Ihamo expressed gratitude to the people and stakeholders, especially Governor Uba Sani and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen for their support which ensured victory for the party.
“I want to use this medium to thank our boss the executive governor, Senator Uba Sani and our leader the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen Iyan Zazzau for their overwhelming support and commitment towards the success of APC” Hon. Jaga said.
Similarly, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial aspirant in Kaduna State, Hon. Sani Mahmood Shaaban who also went round polling units during the just concluded bye elections, also thanked the people of Zaria and Sabon Gari for their support, dedication and commitment to the All Progressives Congress over the last two years.
“We thank Allah for this victory, our people came out to show their support in a free, fair and peaceful elections. Alhamdulillah. I want to also commend the governor and the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other stakeholders,” Hon. Shaaban said.
According to Hon. Mahmood Lawal Bola Ige, the elections is a clear indication that Kaduna State belongs to APC.
“This election is a litmus test of what will happen come 2027 Insha Allah, we are optimistic that all our elected officials will return because of the developmental projects being executed by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kaduna State,” Hon Mahmood Bola Ige said.
Meanwhile, the newly elected member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Ihamo also thanked the entire people of the constituency, all APC stakeholders, especially the governor and the Speaker of the House of Representatives for their support and encouragement, which led to his victory and that of other APC candidates.
Isa Haruna Ihamo of APC won with 26,613 votes defeating his closest rival of the SDP who polled 5,721 votes and PDP candidate who polled 5,331 votes respectively.
