The National Vice Chairman (North-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has launched a ₦200 million youth support programme for 200 beneficiaries in Adamawa State.
The initiative was in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to tackle unemployment, reduce restiveness, and empower young people across the state.
At the Amalgamated Adamawa Youth Conference held yesterday, Salihu disbursed ₦10 million as part of the first phase of the scheme. Seven beneficiaries received ₦1 million each, while six others got ₦500,000 each.
The beneficiaries include Isa Garba Mayo, Dahiru Usman, Khalil Sajo, Anas Bala, Magdaline David, Pwaadato David, Faisal Mohammed Usman who received ₦1 million each.
Those who got ₦500,000 include Ibrahim Haruna, Umar Moh’d Lawan, Ishiyaku Aliyu, Abdulhadi Ahmed, Aisha Abubakar Muh’d and Safiyanu Aliyu from Rumdee Ward in Yola North LGA.
Salihu further announced plans to extend empowerment to women, artisans, and other groups through the distribution of cars, tricycles, deep freezers, and other small-scale business equipment.
Director of Protocol and Chairman of the Comrade Mustapha Salihu (CMS) Special Empowerment Committee, Bello Babalo, who confirmed the development in a statement, said the programme would cushion economic hardship and support livelihoods across Adamawa.
He described it as one of the most ambitious empowerment initiatives ever undertaken by an individual in the state, noting that it reflects Salihu’s commitment to the growth and stability of Adamawa.
Babalo commended the support of the National Security Adviser (NSA), and the APC leadership at both the state and national levels for making the programme a reality.
In response to the gesture, Mr. Khalil Sajo and other beneficiaries expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the APC leadership, assuring their readiness to rally support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They averred that their leadership both at the state and National level has indeed brought succour to the people and would do everything humanly possible to reciprocate the gesture come 2027 general elections.
