The AUG Foundation for Orphans and Less Privileged has donated 150 bags of rice to vulnerable households in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, as part of its ongoing humanitarian outreach to cushion the impact of economic hardship across the state.

The AUG Foundation is a charitable organization founded by philanthropist Malam Abdulhafiz Umar Barau (Dan Isan Gusau/Magayakin Tsafe), dedicated to supporting orphans, widows, and less privileged persons through education, healthcare, and community empowerment initiatives.

Speaking during the distribution exercise held in Tsafe town, the State Coordinator of the Foundation, Alhaji Abdul Bala Gusau, said the beneficiaries included orphans, people with disabilities (PWDs), internally displaced persons (IDPs), aged persons, female-headed households, and other vulnerable groups.

“This gesture is aimed at providing relief and reducing the economic hardship being faced by many vulnerable families,”
Abdul Bala stated.

He added that the Foundation also provided JAMB forms for 20 students from less privileged backgrounds in the area to encourage them to further their education at tertiary institutions.

In addition, the Foundation extended cash assistance to several individuals suffering from medical conditions who could not afford treatment, as well as to two households whose houses had collapsed, to help them rebuild.

“We believe these interventions will go a long way in easing the suffering of the beneficiaries and restoring hope to many struggling families,” he added.

According to him, the Foundation’s next phase of intervention in Tsafe will focus on supporting patients and victims of banditry attacks through medical treatment and emergency response support at the General Hospital, Tsafe.

In his remarks, the Emir of Tsafe, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Bawa, commended the initiative as a timely and commendable humanitarian effort.

“We are very pleased with this gesture from the AUG Foundation. It will certainly bring relief to many of our people. I call on other well-meaning individuals to emulate the philanthropist by supporting the less privileged through similar initiatives.

“On behalf of the Tsafe Emirate Council, we express our profound appreciation and assure the Foundation of our continued support in any project that improves the well-being of our people,” the Emir said.
