Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has organized mass burial for the 11 victims massacred in Ogborji Anambra State, following an attack launched by unidentified gunmen.

The governor while making his speech at the Unity Square, Abakaliki, lamented bitterly over the incident that claimed 11 lives, saying that he is in serious pains because of the enormity of crime, and may not be disposed to talking much, but urged all the affected families to remain peaceful and be consoled by the fact that God knows the best.

He urged all Indigenes of Ebonyi State to avoid being slaves in another man’s land as his administration has provided all the necessary support and framework to better the life of Ebonyians.

He called on all Igbos to respect and accommodate each other and avoid igniting sentiments and maltreating their fellow Igbos to avoid crisis that will lead to more loss of lives and prosperity.

After the mass burial, the bodies of the deceased were expected to be taken to their respective compounds for burial.
