At least four people have been reported killed and scores of others sustained various degrees of injuries, when their vehicle shuttling Damboa-Maiduguri road ran over a planted Improvised Explosive device (IED), suspected to have been planted on the Damboa road by members of Boko Haram sect.
The incident according to the District Head of Damboa, Lawan Maina, took place between Damboa and Kwanar Jaki village under Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
While CJTF sources also confirmed the bomb explosion around on Wednesday along Damboa-Maiduguri road, claiming instantly the lives of four passengers in the vehicle and wounding many others.
According to the CJTF, the victims have been transported to the Maiduguri Specialists Hospital for immediately treatment along with the corpses to be deposited at the mortuary.
The CJTF sources further said that the military authorities are aware because they have been informed or alerted already by both the LGC Executive Chairman and CJTF.
Meanwhile, few days ago, speculation of Boko Haram terrorists invasion into Dandal town of Mobbar LGA of Borno State located at the border of Siffar province in Nigeria Republic opened sporadic gunfire, shooting and scaring residents of Damasak .
But at the end of the commotion, two CJTF members armed and equipped with new brand AK 47 rifles and stationed by the military at one of the designated IDPs Camp in Damasak were reportedly killed by unknown persons and gunmen suspected to be BHTs or so.
The situation led to communal disturbance and conflict between the CJTF members and the soldiers that attracted the intervention of the Damasak Military Bridge Commander and District Head of Damasak as well as the Mobbar LGC Executive Chairman.
