The 3rd edition of the popular Enugu Boolu Ogbe, meaning street ball in English translation, is aimed at discovering young talents, promote healthy sporting activities, unite Communities will kick off on Sunday October 12, 2025, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu, organizers of the tournament have hinted.

South East Coordinator of Bet9ja, sponsors of the competition Barrister Emeka Offorah, made this known while speaking with newsmen weekend in Enugu ahead of the tournament.

Offorah said: “The tournament is sponsored by Bet9ja Foundation. It is a grassroot sports competition aims at discovering and nurturing young talents while promoting healthy sporting activities within the community.

He further said that the foundation is commitment to the tournament as it is part of the foundation’s social responsibilities.

“It is giving back to our customers and society what we got as well as fostering sports development in the community and the region.”

The Coordinator also highlighted the tournament’s achievements, noting that at least five players have been scouted from previous editions by Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) teams.

“Recall that ‘Boolu Ogbe’ which means street football in English Language, started with only workers of Bet9ja before it was taken over by the Bet9ja Foundation for proper financing and cordination.

According to him, the competition, features attractive incentives, including N1 million for the winning team, N500,000 for the first runner-up, along with other consolatory prizes.

“Beyond the monetary rewards, the tournament aims to unite communities and develop local talents.

He hinted that “this year, about 20 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, promising an exciting and competitive season”.
