In a significant step towards improving public health, Dexa Medica, manufacturers of Boska pain-relieving drugs, provided free medical services to over 5,000 individuals in Aba, Lagos, Kano, Onitsha, Sokoto, Ilorin and others. During its Pain-Free Day initiative, the medical outreach included eye screenings, blood pressure checks, blood sugar check, body massages, distribution of free eyeglasses, and essential medications.

Held monthly across various states, the initiative aims to enhance community health while expressing appreciation to loyal customers.

Speaking at the event, Uchendu Ovuike TMP Manager of Boska Group, emphasized the program’s focus on market traders, many of whom often neglect their health due to busy schedules.

Also represented, was Adeboye Joshua A. Williams, who said, “Market traders are integral to our community and support brands.

“This initiative is a way of giving back. It’s not just about eye care; it’s about overall health. Our goal is to reach 10,000 people in each selected area community.”

Optometrist, Dr. Precious Chisaram E. stressed the importance of regular eye checkups, highlighting conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and presbyopia that often go undiagnosed.

“We are distributing over 200 reading glasses to assist those struggling with reading small prints due to aging. We also screen for glaucoma and refer severe cases to tertiary institutions.

“Many participants are receiving free medications and treatment for eye infections,” he explained.

Boska Brand Ambassador, Otunwa Williams underscored the prevalence of health issues such as high blood pressure among traders, which often remains undetected.

“Through this program, we create health awareness and encourage people to consult doctors while providing free medications,” Indibisi Ejike said as one of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, urging other brands to follow suit.

“They are doing an incredible job. God bless them. Other brands should emulate this effort to support communities,” she remarked.

The Pain-Free Day initiative continues to expand its reach, providing essential healthcare services to other communities across Nigeria, including Gombe, Bauchi, Port Harcourt, and Owerri.
