Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Hajiya Amina Mohammed and former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki have paid a condolence visit to Family, Government and People of Katsina State over the death of the former President Muhammadu Buhari who died on July 13, this year.

They respectively, visited Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at General Muhammadu Buhari (Government), House, Katsina to register their condolences before proceeding to the family of the deceased in Daura.

Hajiya Amina Mohammed during her visit offered prayers for the soul of the late President, Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a man of honour whose legacy would continue to inspire generations.

Hajiya Mohammed said, “We pray Almighty Allah grants Baba Buhari eternal rest and continue to guide us to follow in his noble footsteps.”

Responding to the United Nations, Deputy Chief, Governor Dikko Radda expressed gratitude for her visit and the show of solidarity. adding that ,“At a time like this, your presence brings comfort not just to me, but to every Nigerian who admired President Buhari’s service to our nation.”

Similarly, on his part, the former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki informed Katsina State Governor that, late President Muhammadu Buhari was a patriot who stood tall for Nigeria.

Senator Saraki also described the late President Buhari as a “National figure who gave his life in service to the country, both as a military ruler and as a democratically elected leader.”

Senator Bukola Saraki said “This is not just a personal loss to Katsina State it is a loss to the entire nation.”

Senator Saraki said “I worked with late President Buhari even when we didn’t always agree politically and he was a man of integrity who deeply loved Nigeria.”

Senator Bukola Saraki who led a delegation of close allies which includes:-Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje and other close allies recalled moments shared with the late President during their time in public service.

He said after visiting Governor Governor Dikko Radda in Katsina, he would proceed to Daura to personally condole with the family of the late President.

Senator Saraki also commended Governor Radda leadership and humility. noting that, moments like these transcend politics and reflect a shared duty to honour great national figures.

In his remarks, Governor Dikko Radda expressed deep appreciation for the former Senate President visit. “Your visit means a lot to us, especially knowing you just got back into the country yesterday.

“You had a working relationship with Baba, and you understood his style of leadership firm, disciplined, and rooted in love for Nigeria,” Governor Radda reiterated.

Governor Radda reflected on his close bond with the late President after his retirement, stating that, “I used to visit Baba every two to three weeks. He was a pillar and a father figure. He always reminded me to lead with justice, to fear God, and to love this country above all else.”

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda described late President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Kaula as a “Man of few words but deep wisdom and his death leaves both a personal void as well as a significant national loss.”
