It was an evening of recognition, celebration, and inspiration as the Chartered Institute of Mentoring and Coaching Nigeria (CIMCN) hosted its prestigious Award and Induction Ceremony, bringing together accomplished personalities from diverse sectors of national life.
The event underscored the Institute’s unwavering commitment to promoting mentorship, leadership, and service to humanity.
The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Mr. Onaivi Collins Dania, who was decorated with the Award of Fellowship (FPMC) and named a Distinguished Icon of Mentorship.
His honour was a testament to his remarkable contributions to mentorship and leadership, which have left a lasting impact in both professional and community spaces.
Also standing tall among the honorees was Ms. Orija Morohunkeji Yomi, a certified educator, mentor, and coach, whose dedication to shaping young minds and building capacity in early childhood education has earned her a reputation as a trailblazer.
She received the Outstanding Contribution to Early Childhood Education Award and was conferred with the Fellowship of the Professional Mentors and Coaches (FPMC).
This dual honour reflects the Institute’s commitment to advancing early childhood education through visionary leadership and professional mentorship.
The ceremony also provided a platform to celebrate the enduring legacies of past honorees, including Dr. Festus Odige Erewele, Dr. Dauda Zuye-Nda Ageni, Dr. Toyin Sam-Ehemelu, Dr. Temi Ajibewa, TPL (Dr) Omolara Esther Mathew and Mrs. Bisi Sotunde.
Their sustained impact in various fields continues to inspire excellence and reaffirm the importance of mentorship as a tool for national development.
Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the National President, Dr. Raheema Abdul-Aziz Nyako, the Director-General of CIMCN, Dr. Rotimi Mathew, reiterated the vision of the Institute.
According to him, CIMCN remains committed to identifying and celebrating individuals who embody the true spirit of mentorship and service.
“We only honour individuals who are truly deserving,” he affirmed. “Our goal is to nurture exceptional people and institutions that will continue to influence society positively.
These awards are not just symbols of recognition, but also a call to greater responsibility and impact.”
Dr. Mathew further disclosed that the Institute is preparing for its National Conference, which promises to be one of the most impactful gatherings of mentors, coaches, and leaders in Nigeria.
The conference will focus on strengthening mentorship and coaching as vehicles for personal, institutional, and national transformation.
With each recognition, CIMCN reinforces its role as a leading body dedicated to building a culture of mentorship and leadership in Nigeria.
The ceremony not only celebrated the honorees but also highlighted the importance of mentorship in shaping future leaders, advancing education, and fostering excellence across professions.
