The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has lauded Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering commitment to sustainable and inclusive development across Kaduna State, following the official groundbreaking of the Durum to Kuruntumawa Road in Makarfi Local Government Area.
The commissioner described the road project as more than mere infrastructure. According to him, it represents a strategic step towards correcting long-standing developmental imbalances in rural communities like Makarfi, which had not benefitted from a completed road project in over a decade.
“This is not just about building a road, it’s about addressing historical injustice. Out Amiable governor has put a smile on the faces of people who had been neglected for too long” Hon Sadiq declared.
Makarfi, known as one of the state’s agricultural powerhouses—producing maize, sugarcane, tomatoes, and soybeans stands to benefit significantly from improved road infrastructure.
According to him, the Durum–Kuruntumawa road is expected to boost the local economy, improve access to markets, and ease the movement of goods and services, especially for the farming population.
Governor Uba Sani emphasized that roads are central to his administration’s Sustainable Development Agenda, aimed at distributing growth evenly across the state’s 23 local government areas, both urban and rural.
“This road is more than asphalt. It is a promise fulfilled, a lifeline for farmers, traders, students, and families,” the Governor stated. “Our goal is to leave no community behind.”
Since taking office in May 2023, Governor Sani has launched 85 road projects spanning 785 kilometres, with 44 already completed a feat that underscores his administration’s efficiency and commitment to practical, people-centered governance.
The Commissioner further urged citizens to continue supporting the governor’s vision, warning them not to be swayed by political distractions.
“Governor Uba Sani is focused, determined, and delivering results. I call on the good people of Kaduna State to rally behind this sustainable development drive.
“As rural communities begin to feel the real impact of governance, the administration of Governor Uba Sani continues to prove that sustainability is not a slogan but a deliberate, strategic pursuit of equitable growth” he said.
