Corps Member Donates Photostand To Plateau To Ministry

The Plateau State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Ephraim Usman Gar has called for complete support for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in the country.

The commissioner made the call while commissioning a photostand built by a youth corps member serving at the ministry’s headquarters in Jos.

Usman said the scheme has remained a platform for national unity and youth development in Nigeria and called on ministries and agencies to accommodate corps members to enable them contribute their quota to national development.

He assured that the state government will continue to reward hard-working corps members serving in the state and expressed the belief that the corps members will continue to make an impact in the ministry and beyond.

In his goodwill message, the Shendam Local Government Council Chairman, Mr. Nichola Kemi Nshe, who represented his colleagues, said the councils value the contribution of corps members in the state and described Plateau State as one of the safest places in the country.

He called on corps members to be the state’s ambassadors by way of propagating the return of peace in the state and assured them of improved welfare and safety.

In his remarks, the Plateau State coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Jonathan Yavala commended the state governor for the support he gave to scheme in the state, particularly in the areas of security and the welfare of the corps members.

The coordinator also lauded the effort of the state government in revamping the NYSC orientation camp in Mangu.

Earlier in his remarks, the Corps Liaison Officer in the Local Government Ministry, Simon Shaddrech thanked the Ministry for creating a conducive environment for them to achieve their goals.
