At the just-concluded Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) in Algiers, Kaduna State’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, spearheaded efforts to project the state as a hub for trade and investment under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
With the theme, “Gateway to New Opportunities”, the fair convened more than 2,000 exhibitors and 35,000 participants from 140 countries. Kaduna’s pavilion drew attention for its focus on agro-industrial capacity, mineral resources, and thriving markets.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Balarabe noted that Governor Uba Sani’s administration is aligning Kaduna’s economic blueprint with AfCFTA objectives. She stressed that the state is well positioned to benefit from cross-border trade and investment inflows.
“Kaduna is not only rich in resources but also in opportunities for value addition and industrial growth. Our participation here is about building bridges, creating partnerships, and ensuring that Kaduna takes its rightful place in Africa’s emerging trade landscape,” she said.
Dr. Balarabe’s leadership of the state delegation which included KADIPA, the Kaduna Mining Development Company, and other agencies reflects her central role in driving investment promotion and economic diversification in Kaduna State.
