Since its establishment nearly three decades ago, Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc. has grown into a vital force for community development, supporting scholarships, healthcare programs, and empowerment projects across Itsekiri communities in Delta State.
The group has also become a cultural rallying point for Itsekiris abroad, preserving traditions and language while uniting members around shared goals of development and identity. Its annual conventions provide a platform for reflection, fundraising, and renewing ties to their homeland.
Outgoing leaders and members welcomed Dr. Mayor’s election as a milestone for gender inclusion. According to one member, her victory shows that “competence, vision, and dedication not gender define true leadership.”
