A road traffic crash occurred at Police Commissioner Junction in Maiduguri on Friday October 3, 2025 at about 18:54 hrs, resulting to two fatalities and eight injuries.
The crash involved a Howo truck, a Toyota Corolla and two other Tricycles at the Junction.
A statement issued and signed by Usman A Muhammad, the Federal Roads Safety Corps Commander, Sector Command, Borno State on Saturday and made available to newsmen in Maiduguri, said the cause of the road crash was as a result of mechanical fault (Brake failure) of the tipper truck where . eight people (all Male adults) were involved. “Two dead (all male adults) and 6 injured (all Male adults),” he said.
” The FRSC Sector Commander, dispatched emergency and services to the scene to rescue the victims and provide medical attention. The authorities have launched an investigation into the crash to determine the circumstances surrounding it.

The FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander, Usman A Muhammad extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured speedy recovery.
“The victims were conveyed to the Specialist Hospital for medical attention while the deaths were deposited at the mortuary of the hospital, Maiduguri,” the statement said.
