Federal Pensioners Of Nigeria have vowed to embark on a nationwide protest, where members will parade the streets naked, should the government fail to implement increment that will ease the hardship they are facing on Pensions being paid.
This was contained in a communique signed by Chairman NUP NIPOST and National Chairman Coalition of Federal Pensioners of Nigeria, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote, dated September 9, 2025.
“Failure to implement the #32,000 pension increment with September pension and payment of its arrears and #25,000 palliative in this September, there will be a nationwide naked protest on 6 October 2025,” the statement warned.
New Nigerian reports that the communique informed that there will be a press conference on September 16, 2025, at GPO Marina Lagos Island Lagos time 10am.
“For us expose the ministry of finance and our agitation to the whole world,” it added.
New Nigerian reports that the pensioners appreciated PTAD for restoration of back end computation to affected pensioners in the month of August pension, while urging PTAD to pay those affected but omitted.
“Note that this only concerning parastatals pensioners and not every pensioner affected. Back end computation is the money deducted from pension in October 2023. We also urge PTAD to pay the arrears without any further delay,” they appealed.
They therefore, urged all pensioners to start praying and mobilizing their members for the protest.
“We appreciate all pensioners for their patience and confidence have in us.
“Pray God will spare our life to use our hands to collect our money. We also pray to God to repose the spirit of pensioners that lost their life due to delay of implementation of #32,000 pension increment and #25,000 palliative money. May their gentle soul rest in peace,” the communique said.
