A coalition of former local government chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, led by Hon. PhillipJwe, has formally endorsed Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for a second term in office.
The endorsement was made during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ephraim Usman, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Jos.
The delegation, representing past council leaders from all 17 local government areas, praised Governor Mutfwang’s leadership, citing his achievements in grassroots development, peacebuilding, and infrastructure renewal.
Hon. Jwe, speaking on behalf of the forum, described the governor’s tenure as “transformational,” noting that his policies have revitalized local governance and fostered unity across the state.
In addition to their endorsement of the governor, the forum also commended Commissioner Usman for his outstanding performance in office.
They lauded his dedication, accessibility, and strategic coordination of local government affairs, describing him as “a pillar of support” to the administration’s success at the grassroots level.
Responding to the visit, Hon. Usman expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
He emphasized that the support of experienced local leaders was vital to sustaining progress and deepening democratic governance.
The endorsement by the Forum of Former LG Chairmen adds momentum to Governor Mutfwang’s growing support base ahead of the 2027 elections, reinforcing his reputation as a people-centered leader with strong grassroots appeal.
