All seem not to be well as the Senator Ibrahim Lamido Foundation has raised the alarm alleging that the Sokoto State All Progressives Congress (APC) led government is threatening the conduct of its one week organised medical outreach for constituents.

Lamenting over what it described as unfortunate and sad development to the course of the ruling APC at the federal and state levels, including local government areas, Mr Lamir Amin, Special Assistant to Senator Ibrahim Lamido (APC Sokoto) who represent Sokoto East Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly, expressed concerns, noting that the outreach is aimed at attending to the immediate and basic medical needs of constituents, especially those with gun shot wounds as a result of bandits attack and other health issues, including malaria.

It stressed that issues of public benefit should not be linked to politics.

” We must see ourselves as belonging to one strong political house of hope and working to promote its ideals and vision.

“Besides, the foundation has long deepened its support programmes for constituents in education, health, water supply, social development, skills acquisition and empowerment in the last two years.

” This is a humanitarian service that borders on lives and survival. In fact, we billed to conduct the outreach for 7 days to enable patients access the service.

” We have been around for the exercise since three days ago following the state government approval and suddenly, only to be denied usage of the arranged facility. We were at the location and patients turned out but the facility for the exercise was denied as the owners withdrew from allowing access”, Amin said to a group of journalists in Sokoto.

However, Amin disclosed that the foundation had to make alternative arrangements with other private clinics as the outreach was community based and humanitarian, “we have so far attended to more than 30 patients” he confirmed explaining that the foundation was billed to conduct the outreach for as many patients as possible.

He explained that the outreach is a step initiated to further transform the lives of constituents in communities in the eastern senatorial district.

Although, Amin specifically appealed to the state government to do all that is humanly possible to allow the free conduct of the outreach for patients to access the services, he noted that Senator Lamido is a member of the APC and working in the interest of the party and humanity.

” We wouldn’t mind if the state government would make available government owned health facilities to be used for the exercise. We will welcome that, not to threaten the exercise meant to support the health needs of Sokoto people,” he stressed .
