The Honorable Commissioner, Kaduna State Ministry of Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, has said that youth in the State must embrace skills revolution to key into the fourth industrial revolution.
She expressed this on Wednesday in Kaduna, at an event to mark the first ever, World Youth Skills Day organized by the state government
“Artificial intelligence, data science, digital literacy and coding are no longer futuristic concepts.
“They are today’s essential currency. The fourth industrial revolution demands that we pivot decisively towards a skills revolution,” she said.
She said that Kaduna youth must not just adapt, “They must lead. They must innovate.
” From the secondary schools, to the university, to the technical colleges, to innovation clubs, your presence today ignites the gathering with purpose.
“You are the digital pioneers, the coders of tomorrow, and the critical thinkers who will transform Kaduna State through AI and technology,” she said.
She emphasized that the day is dedicated to their dreams, curiosity, and limited potentials.
“Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Governor Dr. Uba Sani, CON, this administration has placed youth development at the heart of its agenda. We are actively expanding digital inclusion initiatives across all 23 local government areas.
“We are also establishing youth innovation hubs as crucibles for creativity, integrating AI and digital skills into vocational training programmes, and fostering partnership to ensure accessibility accessible quality tech education for all,” she assured.
Barrister Ibrahim told the youth that they are not merely leaders, leaders of tomorrow, but solution providers of today.
“Embrace this opportunity. Let curiosity fuel you. Let skills empower you.
“The digital frontier belongs to those bold enough to seize it,” she tasked..
She said that It is her profound honor and privilege to witness the historic event.
“On behalf of the Government of Kaduna State, I extend the warmest of welcome to this maiden celebration of the World Youth Skills Day in our great state.
“The World Youth Skills Day is universally marked and observed on the 15th of July every year, and today makes it its 10th year celebration.
“Today transcends a mere date. It signifies our resolute commitment to equipping Kaduna’s youth with the tools of tomorrow.
“In a world driven by relentless technological advancement, we gather under the time-lifting youth empowerment through AI and digital skills,” she said.
She extended appreciation to their esteemed partners and sponsors whose unwavering support she said, made the landmark event possible at zero cost to the government.
“Your investment in our youth’s potential is transformative. As we celebrate, let us reaffirm our pledge to build a Kaduna where every young mind has unfettered access to digital mastery, where innovation is nurtured, and where talent becomes global excellence.
“Let us collaborate, ignite minds, and forge a future where Kaduna youths drive our state’s digital re-insights.
“To our students, walk out of here as AI ambassadors.
“To all, let’s ignite a digital re-insights across Kaduna State.
“Thank you and may God bless the vibrant youths of Kaduna State and guide our leaders and prosper the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” she prayed.
