A former member, House of Representatives, representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency, David Umar Gurara, has refuted the allegation that he diverted N100 million Federal Government intervention fund intended for constituents.

The present House member, Gabriel Saleh Zock, while flagging off fertilizer distribution on Thursday in his constituency, alleged that his predecessor, Gabriel Saleh Zock, has accused his predecessor, David Umar Gurara, of diverting a N100 million Federal Government intervention fund intended for constituents.

Gurara further explained while clarifying the allegations, that, “Let me tell you the truth, he was not in the House, he does not know how it goes, he has no document for it. We that were there we know, so many things have been shared. If he has the allegation, he should be able to bring proof. You don’t make mere allegations, if he has any allegation, he should report me to the authority because he is a House of Representative member. It is the National Assembly that gave me the money, if there is any wrong doing, it is the same National Assembly to caution me.”

The fund, Zock said, was part of the Federal Government’s effort under President Bola Tinubu’s administration to cushion the economic hardship facing Nigerians.

He revealed that he became aware of the alleged diversion through official communication from the House of Representatives and testimonies from members of his constituency.

He said, “I have vowed to give back to members of the constituency whatever is meant for them because I know I will stand before my creator on the last day to account for all my deeds. I challenge anyone to go and ask the people of the constituency.”

Zock, who came into office through a by-election, disclosed that he has procured 12 trucks of fertilizer for distribution to farmers across the constituency.

According to him, “About 90 percent of our people are farmers. This is why I ensured the procurement and equitable distribution of these fertilizers to boost food production and improve livelihoods.”

He reiterated his commitment to transparency and people-oriented representation, assuring constituents that any benefit or intervention meant for them will be delivered without diversion or favoritism.
