The Funtua Zone Youth Progressive Forum has officially called on Hon. Jamilu Muhammad, popularly known as “Lion,” to join the race for the Senate seat of Funtua Zone in the upcoming 2027 elections.
In a communiqué issued after a high-level meeting held in Funtua, the forum said the zone needs a courageous, experienced, and people-oriented leader at the National Assembly to champion the interests of its people.
Among the forum’s leadership present at the meeting were, Hon. Nazifi Danja, Hon. Hamisu Ubale Funtua, Comr. Usman Lawal, and Hon. Sulaiman Tandama, who jointly signed the statement.
The forum highlighted Hon. Jamilu Muhammad’s brief but impactful tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa Federal Constituency. They noted that although he served for less than one year, his representation brought unprecedented development and relief to his constituents.
According to the forum, Hon. Jamilu Muhammad executed numerous empowerment programs, including the payment of school fees for students, settling medical bills for the sick, donating motorcycles for youth empowerment, repairing roads, constructing and rehabilitating Solder Street, and donating an ambulance to the local hospital, among several other impactful initiatives.
The forum further emphasized that “in this time that Funtua Zone is facing a lack of good representation, the only solution is to bring Hon. Jamilu Muhammad Lion as Senator.”
“Hon. Jamilu Muhammad has consistently shown a commitment to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and good governance. His short time at the House of Representatives brought unprecedented attention and benefits to his constituency. We, the youths of Funtua Zone, believe he is the right person to represent us in the Senate and give our people a strong voice at the national level,” the statement read.
The forum urged Hon. Jamilu Muhammad to heed their call and make himself available for service, assuring him of the full support of the youth and stakeholders across the 11 Local Government Areas of the zone.
