Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Hon. Victor Mathew Bobai, has applauded the humanitarian services of Rev. Fr. Anthony Samuel Agbovi SMA, founder of the Tony Agbovi Impact Foundation (TAIFO).
Speaking after a visit to Rev. Fr. Anthony at St. Charles in Kano, Dr. Bobai described the cleric as a rare patriot whose compassion has lifted countless lives without seeking political power or recognition.
He explained that he had engaged the leadership of the foundation on ways to extend its life-changing interventions to Kaduna State for the benefit of more communities.
TAIFO Foundation has emerged as a beacon of hope for disadvantaged communities across the country through several humanitarian initiatives. Its annual Back-to-School programme provides school uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, and writing materials for children in rural areas, while also supporting tuition for indigent students who would otherwise be forced out of school.
The foundation pays particular attention to the education of the girl child by challenging cultural and social barriers that restrict girls from formal learning. Its efforts align with the national campaign for gender equity in education.
In the area of child protection, TAIFO supports boys vulnerable to child labour and girls at risk of early marriage, thereby shielding children from practices that deepen poverty. It also partners with rural schools to improve learning conditions by renovating classrooms, providing desks, and creating an environment where children can study with dignity.
Beyond education, the foundation offers healthcare services and humanitarian relief, including medical outreach and distribution of materials to families affected by insecurity and economic hardship.
Dr. Bobai stressed that the foundation’s interventions are critical for the North West, a region that continues to grapple with the effects of banditry, kidnappings, and terrorist attacks. He noted that education and humanitarian relief remain essential to breaking the cycles of trauma, displacement, and poverty caused by insecurity.
“His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, has consistently demonstrated that leadership is about compassion and inclusiveness. As Coordinator of APC Governors in the North West, he has the platform to expand the reach of TAIFO’s impact. This partnership would ensure that children and families devastated by insecurity in Kaduna and across the region have access to education, support, and hope,” Bobai stated.
He further underscored the need to work with the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose advocacy for girls’ education and empowerment aligns with TAIFO’s vision. According to him, her support could amplify the foundation’s work and provide the national visibility needed to sustain its interventions.
“Fr. Anthony is not a politician; he is a humanitarian servant whose only interest is touching lives. This is why he deserves to be supported by those in government who share his passion for people. With Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive leadership and the First Lady’s proven commitment to the girl child, this partnership can create lasting change that politics alone cannot achieve,” he added.
Dr. Bobai urged corporate bodies, faith-based organisations, and community leaders to join hands with TAIFO Foundation in scaling up its interventions. He assured that Kaduna State under Governor Uba Sani remains open to collaborations that strengthen education, empower women, and rebuild communities affected by insecurity.
