The Hama Bachama and Paramount Ruler of the Bachama Kingdom in Adamawa, Dr. Daniel Shaga Ismaila (CON), has congratulated Coach Justine Pwanidi Madugu for leading the Super Falcons to their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
Nigeria defeated Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Saturday night, July 26, to lift the 13th edition of WAFCON.
The monarch praised Madugu’s resilience in the face of criticism before and during the tournament, describing it as a stepping stone to his success.
“Justin Pwanidi Madugu is from Numan. He has been a high flier, and when the FA assigned him to lead the Super Falcons, we were excited and very hopeful because he’s a young man that takes every assignment very seriously. I am proud of him,” Dr. Ismaila said.
He noted that the chiefdom and the entire Bwatiye nation worldwide recognised Madugu’s outstanding achievement, especially when many Nigerians did not give him a chance.
“These criticisms are the ladders and stepping boards on which he must ride to success. Our prayer for him is that he withstands the critics and ride on to the summit of his chosen career,” he added.
Dr. Ismaila also announced that the Bachama Kingdom would send a cultural delegation to support the Super Falcons at future friendly or competitive matches as a show of solidarity and pride.
