In a continued effort to enhance transparency and ensure efficient fund allocation at the grassroots level, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, presided over the Technical Session of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) for the month of August.

The session took place at the newly upgraded Conference Hall of the Ministry of Local Government Affairs in Kaduna, attracting a strong turnout of key stakeholders involved in fiscal management and local governance across the state.

In attendance were chairmen and representatives from all 23 local government councils in Kaduna State, alongside their directors of finance and budget.

Also present were senior directors from the Ministry of Local Government Affairs and representatives from vital agencies, including the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), the Office of the Accountant General (Kaduna State), the Federal Pay Officer of the Accountant General of the Federation, the Primary Healthcare Board (PHCB), Pension Board, and the Local Government Service Board (LGSB).

The JAAC Technical Session serves as a critical mechanism for promoting financial accountability and strengthening the delivery of essential services across all local governments in the state.

The meeting featured detailed evaluations of monthly allocations, discussions on fiscal strategies, and measures to boost inter-agency collaboration, all in alignment with Kaduna State’s broader development agenda.

Hon. Mamman Lagos expressed satisfaction with the robust engagement of participants, applauding their dedication to upholding transparency and good governance.

He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that local government administrations are well-equipped to serve their communities effectively and equitably.

“This session is not just a routine gathering; it is a cornerstone of Governor Uba Sani SUSTAINABLE agenda mission to deliver value to our people at the grassroots. With continued cooperation and diligence, we will deepen trust in public institutions and ensure that no community is left behind,” the Commissioner stated.

The meeting concluded with renewed commitments from all stakeholders to work collaboratively towards sustainable development and accountable governance throughout Kaduna State.
