The Hon Member House of Reps, Representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Hon. Kabiru Amadu Mai Palace, said he presented 33 motions on security from his constituency in the Green Chamber of the House of Reps.
Mai Palace announced this in Gusau, while speaking at the One-day Special Prayers Session against insecurity in Zamfara State and Nigeria in General.
The prayers session was organized by the Office of the Lawmaker as part of his activities to contribute towards ending security challenges in the state.
The special prayers led by the Chairman Council of Chiefs Zamfara State And Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmed was attended by the Prominent Islamic Scholars and Traditional rulers in the state.
Mai Palace further said that he presented over 100 letters of complaints on insecurity from his constituency to the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).
“As we all believe, the power of Allah is beyond everyone and everything, therefore seeking Allah’s intervention is necessary considering the level of banditry activities in our communities.
“The issue of insecurity in Zamfara is beyond imagination, we should all work hard and intensity prayers to seek Allah’s intervention to end insecurity.
“As a lawmaker, I received situation report of security challenges from My constituency on daily basis, I present it before the chamber almost on daily basis.
“I have the details of every attack or kidnapping on my people and I report it to the National Assembly and Office of the NSA seeking for urgent government intervention,” Mai Palace said
He commended Governor Dauda Lawal over his commitments to address lingering security challenges in the state.
“I use to discuss with his Excellency extensively on security affairs of the state, he always engaged me and other Federal Lawmakers from the state on issues related to security.
“His Excellency have been up and doing on daily basis to address security challenges affecting our people.
“Even in Abuja, His Excellency invites us on security related issues. He always visited Service Chiefs, He even visited Mr President on the same purpose.
“I am therefore appealing to people of the state to continue supporting Gov Dauda Lawal’s Administration in finding lasting solutions to the problems,” he explained.
The Lawmaker also appealed to the people of the state particulaly from his constituents to always provide useful information related to security to government, lawmakers and security agencies.
“This will help in assisting leaders to know the real situation and actual activities of insecurity in the state.
“I want use this opportunity to express appreciation to the State Council of Chiefs, for its fatherly advise to me on various activities related to the development of my constituency and entire Zamfara state”, he added.
Mai Palace also commended members of the State Council of Ulama under Sheikh Ahmad Umar Kanoma for their kind support and prayers for him.
He assured to continue engaging both Council of Chiefs and Council of Ulamas in his legislative and representation activities.
Also Speaking, the Chairman of the event, the Emir of Anka described the prayers session as a welcome development.
“This is the right thinking, to gather and seek for Allah’s intervention.
“I think other lawmakers should emulate such efforts by engaging stakeholder aimed at finding solutions to the lingering security challenges in the state”, he explained.
The Monarch assured support and cooperation to the lawmakers in his efforts to ensure effective representation of his constituents in the National Assembly.
