Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani has applauded the Southern Kaduna Aid Foundation (SKAID) for complementing the State government’s efforts in developing skills in youth.

He expressed this at the graduation of 46 trainees of the SKAID Trade and Skills Acquisition Training at Maryamu and Yakubu Skills Development and Educational Foundation, Ungwan Wakili, Zango Kataf Local Government Area on Friday.

Represented by the Provost of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, Mal. Hussaini Haruna Muhammad, he said, “the SKAID Trade & Skills Acquisition Programme aligns perfectly with the Kaduna State Government’s vision to develop vocational skills among the youth.

‎“If you build the capacity of the people and give them the requisite skills, they will be the ones to build the city,” he affirmed.

‎He emphasised that investing in human capital remains the most sustainable way to safeguard and advance all other areas of development.

He expressed excitement at the shared commitment between the foundation and the government to implement forward-thinking initiatives in this direction, commending SKAID Foundation for its foresight in empowering youth through vocational training to contribute meaningfully to the state and beyond.

Earlier in his remarks, Chairman SKAID, Rear Admiral Ferguson Bobai (Rtd), described the graduation as a significant milestone.

“Today marks a significant milestone for the graduates of the SKAID Trade and Skill Acquisition Training.

“You have devoted yourself to hard work, perseverance and education in acquiring valuable skills that open doors to economic independence and entrepreneurship.

“Whether your passion lies in electrical repairs, welding & fabrication, beauty care and solar installation your efforts have prepared you to contribute to the socioeconomic development of Southern Kaduna,” he said.

According to him, the occasion is not only a celebration of personal achievements, but also a demonstration of community collaboration.

“The support of donors, government, traditional institutions and development partners has been instrumental in making this program a success.

“I would like to specially acknowledge the Maryamu and Yakubu Skill Development Foundation for their invaluable role in training our Trade and Skill Acquisition participants,” he saif.

To the graduands, he charged them to use the training acquired in building a brighter future for themselves and the society.

“As you step forward with your certificate in hands, remember that your journey to success has just begun. The knowledge and skill you’ve acquired are the foundation upon which you will build your future.

“I encourage you to be resilient, innovative, and socially responsible as you enter the workforce or venture into entrepreneurship. The challenges are many but also are the opportunities. Your success will inspire others and uplift them,” he added.
