In a major empowerment initiative over the weekend, no fewer than 1,500 women from Kaduna North Local Government Area and surrounding communities received cash donations and bags of rice to boost their small-scale businesses and improve their livelihoods.

The programme, spearheaded by AbdulAzeez Kaka, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Stakeholders Forum in Kaduna State and founder of the ‘Kowa Namu Ne’ Foundation, was aimed at strengthening grassroots economic development and complementing both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Uba Sani’s SUSTAIN agenda.

In his address during the distribution exercise, Kaka emphasized that empowering women who he described as the bedrock of every family would go a long way in addressing poverty and strengthening the socioeconomic fabric of society.

“In line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and Governor Uba Sani’s SUSTAIN blueprint, we have chosen to focus on Women as a priority group in our empowerment drive. When we empower women, we empower families and communities,” Kaka said.

He revealed that over 5,000 individuals have so far benefited from various initiatives under his foundation, including financial support, skills training, and welfare packages designed to promote economic self-reliance.

In addition to the cash gifts, beneficiaries also received bags of rice as part of the empowerment package, an effort Kaka said was meant to ease current economic pressures and support households.

Paying glowing tributes to President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, Kaka commended their leadership and policy reforms, particularly in the areas of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and youth and women empowerment.

He expressed optimism that the ongoing reforms under the two leaders would soon begin to yield tangible benefits for Nigerians, paving the way for a secure and prosperous future.

“When we invest in our youth, we reduce unemployment; when we empower women, we strengthen our homes; and when we create opportunities, we close the doors to crime and open the gates to prosperity,” Kaka declared.

He also called on elected officials, government appointees, and corporate organizations to contribute actively toward empowering citizens, stressing that addressing joblessness is key to tackling rising social vices.

With this latest outreach, Kaka reaffirmed his commitment to continue mobilizing resources and support for vulnerable groups in Kaduna North and beyond.
