The Management of the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) has visited developments and complaint sites in Zaria, Makarfi and Ikara local government areas respectively.
A statement signed by Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka, MNIPR (Assistant Director, Public Affairs Unit), KASUPDA, made available to newsmen revealed that the team which was led by the Director General, Bldr. Abdurrahman Yahya (Ph.D), also paid courtesy visit to the Chairman, Ikara Local Government Council, Hon. Bashir Mamman Dogon Koli.
It said that the visit to the areas is part of the DG’s initiative for ensuring proper urban planning, good developments, resolve issues, revenue generation, ensuring safety of lives and properties in the state.
Areas visited included: a proposed motor park at Dutsen Abba, automobile mechanics (Ganuwa Garage), proposed site for automobile mechanics at Kufena, complaint site at U/Malamai all in Zaria and unapproved developments at T/Yari in Makarfi and others in Ikara Local Government Area.
Meanwhile, during the visit, the management also intervened in a dispute between neighbours and advised them professionally on how to resolve the issue.
The authority also had an engagement meeting in Zaria with the Association of Automobile Mechanics of Ganuwa Garage to bridge the communication gap on government proposed site for them to move their business activities.
During the management visit to Ikara, the DG expressed appreciation for the support given to KASUPDA by the council.
Furthermore, the chairman of the council, Hon. Bashir Mamman Dogon Koli commended the staff in charge of the area, Tukur Paki for being hard working and also thanked KASUPDA for the visit.
Besides, he pledged continued support from the council to KASUPDA in discharging its responsibility.
Hon.Bashir Dogon Koli also led the management team to inspect the council’s proposed ICT Centre under construction.
