Katsina State Science and Technical Board has revived speech and prize giving day ceremony in all Science and Technical Schools under the board in the State.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu disclosed this, during speech and prize Giving Day ceremony held at Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) Dutsinma.
Professor Ibrahim Matazu explained that, the Board has also resuscitated Animal Husbandry Department across its Schools, with the takeoff at Government Technical college, Ingawa in Ingawa local government area.
Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu charged teachers on good mentorship to students and called on them to embrace farming to augment their income.
In his welcome address, Principal of Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Dutsinma, Malam Isa Sani Ibrahim stated that, most of the over 200 graduating Students have scored five credits and above during their qualify examination.
Malam Sani Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the Federal lawmaker representing the area, Alhaji Aminu Balele Ɗan Arewa, year Groups of GSSS Old Boys, and Dutsinma local government for supporting the school activities.
The principal who noted that, the School which established tailoring scheme to the students to make them self reliant need its laboratories to be equipped.
An alumnus of the School, Dr. Mustapha Sabo Nalado of the
Department of Animal Science,
Federal University Dutsinma
(FUDMA), presented a speech on struggle and success to motivate the students.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Federal lawmaker, Alhaji Aminu Balele Ɗan Arewa who was represented by Alhaji Abdu Bawa Dutsinma, Dr. Garba Yargamji representing GSSS Dutsinma Old Boys Association and District head of Dutsinma, the Yandakan Katsina, Alhaji sada Mohammed sada who was also represented by Yariman Dutsinma.
Highlights of the speech and prize Giving Day includes:- presentation of various prizes to students and notables individuals as well as presentation of students drama led by a corps member, Mr. Solomon Yakubu.
