A two-day workshop on eye care for 361 health personnel across the 361 Wards of the 34 local government areas in Katsina State has been conducted.

Held in Katsina; Daura and Funtua Senatorial Districts as scheduled to run as mandated by Katsina State Government, a total of 361 primary healthcare workers, drawn from various wards across the state, were selected by the Katsina State Ministry of Health to receive training on how to provide care for individuals with eye-related health issues in their respective areas.

Speaking at the the event, the State Training Officer, Isah Muhammad Mai’adua, explained that, “the training was first commenced in Funtua Zone followed by Katsina Zone which took place in Modoji Primary School School in Katsina Metropolis and lastly Daura Zone which also took place in Mani Local Government Area on Thursday, 31st July 2025.

In their separate remarks, the resource persons enlightened the participants on the importance of adhering to healthcare service guidelines. emphasised that, the program aligns with the healthcare agenda of the current administration of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.

Earlier, the participants expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Health for organizing the training, pledging their commitment to better serve the people of the state, particularly at the primary healthcare level.

The training was supervised by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Tijjani Hamza with the Director of Public Health, Dr. Mu’awuya Aliu and Director of Planning Dr. Ibrahim Nalado.
