Some unidentified gunmen believed to be kidnappers invaded a residence in Isanlu and abducted the mother, two children while the husband scampered for safety with bullet wounds from the marauding beasts.

Our correspondent gathered from reliable source that the head of the family in his spirited attempt to avoid the claws of the unwanted visitors, was baptised with two bullets.

The attack on Friday, it was learnt, happened in Isanlu, headquarters of Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to a source, “one Tokpe Gody at Bareke-Egbe in Yagba West was attacked by unknown gunmen in their family house in the wee hours on Friday morning and abducted his wife and two children.

As the medical personnel in Egbe Hospital are battling on how to save the live of the husband who escaped with bullet wounds, the kidnappers are said to be demanding a ransom of N100m from the family for the release of their spoils.

A member of the Kogi State Vigilante management agency who spoke on anonymity said, “One of us received calls from the kidnappers this morning, they used one private number to call us, they asked for N100 million before they will release the victims”

The local security source hinted that the health condition of Tokpe in the hospital was very critical and might require the attention of Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Lokoja.

It would be recalled that ominous banditry activities in the enclave have recorded unprecedented invasion of Okun land almost on daily basis, with precision in the last five months, counting from when the paramount ruler of Okeloke was abducted.

The sustained armed banditry activities featuring in the Yoruba speaking area of the Confluence State have defied legitimate security agencies as they have killed a number of policemen and local vigilantes in the environment.
