Members of staff of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA have had their morale vitalized following the pledge of improved welfare package by the executive chairman of the council, Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu.
Speaking during the staff forum held at the council Secretariat, Jimoh assured the workers of improved welfare package and working tools which include staff clinic, bus, provision of utility vehicle for works and infrastructure department and a bus for the revenue unit.
According to the council helmsman, the package also include end of the year bonus, increment on non pensionable staff salary, celebration of retirees and continuous training for staff.
In a statement by the public affairs unit, Jimoh, who lauded the staffers for their commitment and cooperation, further solicited their loyalty and co-operation to his administration, stressing that “with full staff cooperation, we can together take Apapa Iganmu LCDA to a greater height.”
In her contribution, the vice chairman, Hon. Mrs. Fadeke Otitonaiye reiterated the chairman’s promise by assuring the staff that the Chairman will fulfill all his promises with an addition of a bus for the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) that will ease the mobility of executives whenever the need arises to attend an important official assignment especially at the state level.
Speaking on behalf of the workers, the Council Manager, Mr. Badmus Lateef further assured the chairman of the staff 100% loyalty and cooperation because, while expressing the believe that the chairman will fulfill all his promises and surpass it.
Mr. Badmus also advised the whole staff to have an open mind, seek clarification from their immediate boss on issues with grey area, be more dedicated and committed to their job, be innovative in the discharge of their respective duties in order to have a better system that will be mutually beneficial to the Government and staff.
Head, Admin and Human Resources Officer, Mr. Akitoye Adedamola, lectured the staff on Public service Rules, and during his lecture, preaches to the staff to be more punctual, discipline, and be more dedicated to their duties.
He also advised the staff to upgrade themselves academically in order not be stagnated in their carrier.
The Head Admin and HR,
further advise the staff to have a growth mindset by having a strong determination to do their job better than ever before and above all, “maintain the oat of secrecy” that is, to be more confidential with information in their respective offices.
The H.O.D Education, Mr. Jinadu Olalekan also informed the staff about the Executive Chairman’s free kindergarten class with free books and uniforms for staff children.
Day Care for the babies staff that are Nursing Mothers, so that they can bring their babies for reliable care in order for them to fully concentrate on their job during working hours.
The branch chairman of NULGE WAS Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Comrade Kabala Akinwunmi who gave the vote of thanks, assured the executive chairman full cooperation and loyalty of the entire staff.
He further prayed to God to assist the executive chairman in piloting the affairs of the council in general.
The interactive session was well attended by all the councilors, led by the leader of the House, Hon. Adigun Abdullahi Arogundade, all management staff and the entire staff of the council.
