Katsina State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA) has flagged off Statewide mobilization Campaign on voter registration at Charanchi Market in Charanchi Local Government Area of the state.
The State Director of the agency, Alhaji Muntari Lawal Tsagem said that the aim is to mobilize youth of voting age to get registered and those with issues on their voters’ cards to visit the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for correction before the next election.
Alhaji Lawal Tsagem emphasised that, the campaign would be conducted in markets and tertiary institutions throughout the state to effectively reach potential voters in both rural and urban areas.
Alhaji Tsagem warned against “Multiple registrations and youth who did not register before to pre-register themselves using the link www.inec.org.ng and then proceed to INEC to complete the registration process. He also encouraged those who lost their cards or want to transfer to another location to go to INEC for updating instead of making another registration.”
Alhaji Muntari Lawal Tsagem assured that, INEC would address “problem of cards that are defaced and those with spelling mistakes.”
Alhaji Lawal Tsagem further warned that, “Multiple registrations leads to removing one from the voters register at all.”
He enjoined Katsina State citizens to register so that, the number of voters in the state would reflects the true size of the state’s population in the nation’s demographic distributions.
Alhaji Muntari Lawal Tsagem urged People of Katsina State to support the efforts of the present administration under Governor Dikko Umaru Radda to restore peace and harmony in the state.
He finally, appealed for people to appreciate the ongoing State and Federal Government projects in the state by being patriotic and law-abiding citizens
