Ondo 2027: Dele Omosehin Declares Intention To Contest Elections

*Receives grassroots backing

Founder of Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF) and President of the Bamidele Omosehin Group (BOG), Omosehin, HRH Dele Omosehin, has declared his intention to contest in the 2027 elections.

The Traditional Prime Minister (Lisa) of Osooro Kingdom, officially announced his intention over the weekend at an engagement with stakeholders from Okitipupa, Irele, and surrounding communities

He stressed that his ambition is borne out of deep concern for the future of his people and a burning desire to expand his impact through public office.

” I am not driven by personal ambition, but by the growing demand for responsible, inclusive, and results-oriented leadership. The time has come to elevate the work we’ve done and reach more people through formal representation,” he said.

The Lisa of Osooro Kingdomhas delivered wide-reaching philanthropic and developmental interventions—ranging from youth empowerment and education support to widow aid, health outreach, and community development projects.

The gathering witnessed strong declarations of support from stakeholders, prayers from traditional leaders, and unanimous pledges of loyalty from various interest groups. Many described HRH Omosehin as “a beacon of hope whose humility, generosity, and commitment set him apart.”

While the specific office he intends to contest remains open, political observers agree that his entry into the 2027 race will greatly influence the political trajectory of Ondo South.
