The Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Kaduna State Command, Alhaji Muhammad Sunusi Maikwalta, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Head of State and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd.), who died on Sunday in London after a prolonged illness.
A statement signed by Comrade Ali Attahiru, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Chairman, PCRC Kaduna State Command made available to newsmen revealed that in an official condolence statement issued in Kaduna, the Chairman extended heartfelt sympathies to the family of the late President, the people of Katsina State, and the entire nation.
He described the deceased as a patriotic leader, a dedicated public servant, and a pillar of discipline and integrity, who served Nigeria meritoriously in both military and civilian capacities.
“General Buhari’s contributions to the unity, security, and development of Nigeria will remain etched in our collective memory,” Alhaji Maikwalta said. “From his distinguished military career to his service as a two-term democratically elected president, he embodied courage, patriotism, and a deep commitment to national progress.” He said.
The Chairman also highlighted the late President’s legacy in strengthening anti-corruption efforts, advancing infrastructural development, and promoting national security.
While praying for the peaceful repose of his soul, Alhaji Maikwalta urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues of honesty, sacrifice, and service to the nation for which the late Buhari was known.
He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, close associates, and the nation at large the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
