An 11-man syndicate of suspected notorious armed robbers who specialised in blocking Shaiskawa – Charanchi and Katsina – Kankia – Kano roads, robbing unsuspecting motorists have been arrested by the Police in Katsina.

They are:- Dikko Maaru; Dardau kabir, age 24; Muntari Musa, age 22; Labaran Amadu, age 22; Usman Maaru, age 25; Lawal Zubairu, age 22; Nasiru Sanusi, age 25; Adamu Kabir, age 21; Abdullahi Zubairu, age 35; Muhammad usman, age 25 and Sale shehu, age 23.

The breakthrough according to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of Katsina State Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu came on October 12th, 2025, at about 1000 hours when a member of the syndicate was intercepted while attempting to dispose of the proceeds of their heinous act, following a credible intelligence report.

“Acting swiftly on the tip-off, our operatives were able to track down and apprehend the suspect, leading to the arrest of other members of the syndicate,” he said.

During the investigation, he said eighty (80) wristwatches, 9 mobile phones, and a knife were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sadiq Aliyu emphasised that, the arrest of the suspected Armed robbers was part of the Katsina State Police Command sustained effort in the ongoing onslaught against all forms of crime and criminality across the 34 Local Government Areas in the State.

DSP Aliyu explained that, the State
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu while commending the operatives for a Job well done,” appreciated the public’s support and urged “everyone to continue providing useful intelligence and information to aid in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.”

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu reiterated that, the suspects would be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
