The Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin, has called on the Nigerian Governors to support President Bola Tinubu by projecting peace and unity across federation, irrespective of their political, religious and ethnic inclinations.
Oba Ewuare II made the disclosure when he received the governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Palace on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State.
The first class traditional ruler stated that President Bola Tinubu is doing a wonderful work in trying to get the country together despite being widely criticised in the saddle of leadership like his counterparts abroad.
“And above all, I want you to extend my warm regards to the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for the wonderful work, in trying to get the country together as hard as everybody is saying it.
“Everybody knows that there is nobody that has been at the Presidential Villa, sitting on that seat that has not been seriously criticised for one thing or the other.
“Even in America and other developed countries, their Presidents are being bombarded by opposition — left, right and centre. So, we should hold our own and do our best”, the Oba said.
The Benin royal father also implored the Nigerian Governors to continue to support Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo who he showered praises for according the traditional institution in the State its deserved respect and recognition.
Addressing the Benin throne, Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum, and governor of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma, solicited prayers and assured Oba Ewuare II that Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo will fulfill his campaign promises to Edo people, including poverty reduction, and improved infrastructure across various sectors of the State.
The governors were accompanied by some Senators elected on APC platform and two cabinet members of President Tinubu were present during the visit.
