The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on Saturday, crowned 20 new Obas from across the ancient city of Ile Ife .

Speaking at the crowning ceremony held at his Ile Oodua Palace, Ooni Ogunwusi tasked the new Obas to uphold peace and promote unity.

He stressed that there is also the need for the newly crowned Obas to work together to foster development across their respective domains.

Oba Ogunwusi advised them to see their crowns as symbols of responsibility and service to their people, rather than an avenue for personal gain.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Obalufe of Ile Ife, Oba Idowu Olaniyi Adediwura charged the new Obas to maintain loyalty to the Ile-Ife.

Oba Adediwura also called on the 20 new Obas to contribute to the cultural and socio-economic progress of their communities.

Lowa Adimula of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Adekola Adesiyan in his remarks advised the newly crowned monarchs to rule with wisdom, humility, and fairness, stressing that their emergence was a call to service and not a contest for supremacy.

The 20 newly crowned Obas were Oba Adegoke Owojori, the Obajio of Moore, Ife Kingdom,Oba Olatunde Owole Erinle, the Olu of Erinle Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Kehinde Adeyinka Adetoro, the Olu of Awoyaya Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Adegbaju Azeez, the Olu of Ifeparapo Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Adedunni Gbadegesin, the Olu of Onida Town, Ife Kingdom, and Oba Gbade Agboola, the Olu of Irewole Town, Ife Kingdom.

Others included Oba Adebamiji Adeniyi Habedeen, the Olu of Onimon Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Abdul Wasiu Hassan, the Olu of Alaseyori Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Gbadegesin Elubode, the Olu of Obagibile Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Oladipo Olayinka Fasesin, the Olu of Famia Town, Ife Kingdom, Oba Akinola John Adebayo Fadoyin, the Olu of Kajola Obalara Town, Ife Kingdom.
