The repair of tracks on the Warri-Itakpe train route has reached an advanced level, and official date of resumption of operations will be announced soon, the management of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has indicated in a statement on Friday.
“Operations had been temporarily suspended on the train service to enable us carry out urgent and critical track repairs aimed at guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and comfort of passengers, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said.
He declared that work on the affected sections has reached an advanced stage, and that normal train movement will start again in the shortest possible time.
“The NRC deeply appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of passengers during this period of service interruption.
“We remain committed to providing safe, efficient, and reliable rail transport services across the country.
“A subsequent announcement will be communicated on the official date for the resumption of full operations,” the chief public relations officer said.
