A member  House of Representatives, representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency,  Alhaji Abdulmalik Zubairu  Zanna has disbursed ₦.34.9 million as  scholarships grants to 1,166 students of Abdu-Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara and Zamfara State College of Education Maru.
Speaking at the presentation to the students of the two institutions respectively at his constituency office in Bungudu town, Zanna said the initiative was part of his efforts to support education, particularly for students from less-privileged families.
Zanna who was represented by the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, Muhammad Lawal Adamu said the gesture was aimed at helping students complete their studies and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and the nation.
He said out of the beneficiaries 508 are students of Abdu-Gusau Polythecnic Talata Mafara while the 658 students were drawned from Zamfara College of Education Maru making a total of 1,166 students.
According to him “All the beneficiaries were indigenes of Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas who are currently studying various courses in the two tertiary Institutions”.
“Each beneficiary has received N30,000 as scholarship grants.
“The gesture is aimed at supporting students from less- privileged families, who are finding it difficult to pay their school fees.
“The scholarship grants for 508 Abdu-Gusau Talata Mafara Students received a total cost of N 15.2 million while the 658 students of College of Education Maru received a total of N19.7 million,” he explained.
